CONTEXT
BFF4Change is an Australian charity that connects charities, businesses and community members through an innovative digital platform that provides practical support to people experiencing hardship.
On a limited budget, BFF4Change needed to engage a broad range of audiences, including charities, business partners, volunteers, donors and the wider community, while clearly communicating a charity platform that differed from straightforward giving.
The organisation required a communications approach that would build trust, strengthen its public profile and support growth while maintaining clarity of messaging across every audience.
WHAT WAS REQUIRED
Infodec Communications was engaged to assist with the communications strategy that would support BFF4Change’s next stage of growth.
The strategy needed to:
- support a consistent organisational voice across all communication channels
- clearly explain BFF4Change’s unique community giving model
- build trust with businesses, charities, volunteers and donors
- support fundraising and community participation through integrated campaigns
- strengthen relationships with community organisations and strategic partners
- use reporting and insights to continually improve communications performance
Communications also needed to evolve from building awareness to strengthening credibility, encouraging participation and supporting sustainable organisational growth.
OUR ROLE
Over a 24-month partnership, Infodec Communications worked alongside BFF4Change’s volunteer leadership team to develop and deliver a communications strategy that evolved with the organisation.
Rather than focusing on individual campaigns or social media activity, every communication was designed to support broader organisational priorities, including fundraising, volunteer recruitment, business engagement and community partnerships.
The communications strategy shifted from introducing the organisation and explaining its purpose to showcasing community impact, strengthening strategic partnerships and encouraging greater participation through authentic storytelling.
